Malpe: "House Full" on Malpe Beach - 10/16/2008

mangalorean

UDUPI, Oct 15, 2008: Youngsters of this temple town moved to Malpe in their 100s to watch their favourite actors and actresses shooting for the new Movie "Houseful." A comedy melodrama produced and directed by Hemanth Hegde is now on sets at the fishermen’s town in Malpe. It is the fourth film being made by Hemanth Hegde.

Though the Mahurath of the film has already been done in Bangalore the scene which was pasteurized here was that of a tiff between the hero and the villain. The Villain arrives at the wedding site of the hero and the hero bails out with difficulty from his wedding ceremony and escapes from villain’s attacks. The villain is the model-actor Milind Gunaji. The proverbial Police rescue comes to the aid of the hero. Though this scene has a deja-vu effect, but all these are in lighter vain, says director Hemanth.

Hemanth Hegde says that it is a full length comedy melodrama sprinkled with a generous dash of action and music. Director Hegde too acts in the film with Diganth as his friend and the story revolves around these two youngsters and their love life.

Apart from just making this film Hegde also has some ideas through this movie. He wanted to pay tribute to the greatest film maker and comedy actor Sir Charles Chaplin and hence the movie also features a 60 ft statue of Chaplin which Hegde says would be a sort of record. Hegde plans to send the documentary and movie clips of the statue to Guinness Book of World Records. According to Hegde this is the tallest statue of Chaplin ever made.

The movie is being shot across various parts of Karnataka including Bangalore, Jungle resorts in Ramnagar, Mysore, coastal Karnataka and Goa.

Vishaka Singh and Girija Oaks are appearing in the movie in leading female roles. Girija has previously appeared with Aamir Khan in Taare Zameen Par while this is first Kannada movie for Vishaka Singh  who has previously acted in Hindi films.

Well-known cricketer turned politician Navjot Singh Sidhu is set to play himself in this film. According to Director Hegde Sidhu's cameo will be the highlight of the movie.

Diganth and Girija Oaks, Hemanth Hegde and Vishaka Singh play the roles of couples. Others who are acting in the movie are Lokanath, Avathar Gill, Ramesh Bhat, and Bullet Prakash.
