Mountrosary, Sep 8The Monti Fest celebration here at Mount Rosary church, Kallianpura was celebrated by parish community in feelings of ardent love for Mother Mary on her birthday traditionally called Monti fest by Konkani biotic community of Mangalore region. The fresh beautiful flowers add vibrant colour for this as congregation accompanied with orchestral band and hymns by children moves on a procession from the alternative gate church to Kemmannu Rd and proceeds towards Santhekatte from where diverts to Kallianpur Rd and back to Church through the main entrance. The high mass was celebrated by Rev Fr John Noronha and while Fr Nelson Olivera addressed emotional sermon about Mother the family feast and those in the family who miss the opportunity of living together and celebrating the feast together. The feast Mass in honor of Mother Mary a thanks giving by Mr Elias Saldanha and family who had distributed sugar cane for the children. The pleasant weather added few showers during the noon as day remained cloudy and rainy throughout the day. We Wish you all a Happy Monti fest.May Mother Mary bless us all Mount Rosarians

Kallianpur: The hymn "Moriae Hogalsia" was sung with the tunes of Milagres school band in front of church main entrance, blessed the new corn (Nove), the high mass started at 8.20 am. with the main celebrant of the mass, Rev Fr Fred Mascarenhas, the Principal of the college.

The main "Mordom" of the Feast, Late Lazarus D’Souza and family of Kote Road, since 30 years was honoured and remembered during the mass.The parish priest Rev Fr Marcel Saldanha gave sermon in regard to the histroy of the Monthi Feast Celebration in Mangalore Diocese. Headmaster and Asst. Parish Priest Fr. Vijay Lobo also participated during the Eucaristic celebration.

The Gurkars of parish distributed the "Nove" to all parishners. At the end as usual in the memory of Late Lazarus D’Souza and family gave away the scholarships to Tenth Standard and IInd PUC highest marks secured students.

With the leadership of Catholic Sabha, "Prathiba Puraskar Awards" were given to Milagres students who secured highest marks in year 2007/08 to Ist standard to 9th standard of both English and Kannada Med. students as well as I PUC Students of Milagres Parish.

After the mass Fr. Saldanha wished the people of the parish and also who residing abroad as well. Meanwhile sweets and bruchures were distributed to all the people who attended holy mass, sponsored by "MGAD".(Milagreans Gulf Association, Dubai).

To make the children happy, sugarcane were distributed to all. There was a get togather party at Milagres Hall, for the Parish Council Members, Alter boys, Church coirand band students after the mass.This event was witnessed by some of the leading personalities of Mumbai like Roney Mendonca, Dolfy D’Souza,(Mumbai Catholic Sabha), and others were present .

Kundapur: Feast of Nativity of Mother Mary celebrated at Holy Rosary Church. - 9/9/2008
Vinaya Pais, Kundapur for KMKundapur Sept, 8: Nativity of Mary feast was celebrated in Holy Rosary church Kundapur on a grand scale. It also markes the “Hosthu” for the Christians . Rev.. Fr.Alban D'Souza Parish Priest took the lead in solomanising the Eukarist Mass. The tiny tots used offered the flowers.
On the other hand the Christain farmer offered her the first yield from their fields. They would carry them back home and jointly per take in their meals prepared out of it. The children would sweeten both their heart and tongue by distributed the sugar cane pieces among themselves special worship and blessings were also held by the vehicle owners for their vehicals.
In the evening several socio cultural activities were performed.

Kolalgiri: Monti Fest Celebrated at Secret Heart Church, Kolalgiri. - 9/9/2008
Report: Melwyn Mascrenhas Pics:Michael ChaudhariKolalgiri, Sept 8: The celebration of the Monti Fest at 8.30am with a opening song NAMAN MONTI MAYAE sung by the ICYM,YCS youth and church students. Parish priest Fr.Jerom Monteiro blessed the new corn proceeded by the procession accompanied by the traditional band and childrens with the basket of flowers.
The liturgy celebration was well organized by the ICYM,YCS and church students. The main celebrant for the mass was Fr. Jerom Monteiro . This was the first Monti feast celebrated after the inauguration of the new church. Fr. Leonardo, Priest of Pilar Fathers gave a meaningful homily to acquire the humanity and love for others. The Sponsor(Pirjent) for the day was Simon Benedicta Chaudhary. The new paddy corn was distributed to all the parishioners.
It was really a grand celebration may the blessing of our mother be with you all.

Kallianpur: Enterpreneurs & Business Professionals meet held at Kalianpur - 9/8/2008
Dr. Gerald Pinto, Kallinapur for KmKallianpur, Sep 8: A get together of entrepreneurs and professionals from Mumbai and around Kallianpur was organized on Saturday September 6, at the Tri-centenary Hall in Kallianpur near here, under the leadership of Fr Marcel Saldanha. On behalf of 'Dimensions,' Roney Mendonca, former police commissioner of Mumbai, Fred Mendonca, editor of 'Dimensionally Yours,' Dolphy D Souza,H R consultant and president of Mumbai Catholic Sabha, Agnello Rajesh Aithade from St Agnello Computer Ltd , Vinod Noronha and John D' Souza were present. Fr Vijay Lobo, Head Master and assistant parish priest, Leslie Lewis, vice president of the parish pastoral council and James D Souza, secretary were present.
Roney Mendonca introduced 'Dimensions' to the session. Vinod Noronha explained the need for the need to have an efficient net working between various Christian professionals like lawyers, businessmen etc., for strengthening the community. He sighted the example of the Jain community, which inspite of being a small community, has been running medical colleges and business houses. Although Christians run 55 % of the educational institutions, they are not as strong as the Jains, he opined.
Rajesh Angelo Aithade, chairman of St Angello Computer company Ltd, the larget Computer education company in Mumbai, and director of the Christian Chamber of Commerce said, that India is the youngest country with averge age of 26 years and predicted that it will rule the World in future. He asked the people to support each other by strengthening the net-working between them and growing into successful businessmen. To succeed in business, we must be able to understand the pains of the people, driven by a purpose, keep up the promises made to our customers, keep up the tempo of commitment and ensure that honest, hard-working and sincere people are hired in our organizations, he explained.
Fred Mendonca exhorted on the necessity to work towards achieving collective prosperity and to understand that giving is receiving, and the need to reach out to the people. Dolphy D Souza explained the difficult phase through which the Christian community is passing through at present. We have no god fathers and we do not have musle power. So we must arm ourselves through economic power, he felt.
Marcel Saldanha welcomed and introduced the guests. Dr Gerald Pinto proposed vote of thanks. Vincent Alva compered the programme.
