Kundapur, July 10: Inaugurating the 11th Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) taluk conference of local unit here on Wednesday July 9, state secretary Bharathraj N L said, that the BJP which is ruling the state, has set a bad precedent by provoking defections from the opposition by flexing money power, and predicted that the new strategy would soon prove to be counter productive.

The BJP had won the last election through sheer money power. Now they would leave no stone unturned for clinging on to the power. The state government is callously indifferent to the plight of farmers who are committing suicides and to the artificial scarcity of chemical fertilizers. Besides, they have conveniently forgotten the promise of free supply of electricity to the farmers the party had made during electioneering. On the contrary, the true BJP colours were revealed, when its government resorted to shoot down farmers agitating against short supply of manure, he stated.

DK district DYFI president Muneer Katipalla was present as the chief guest. Sudhaker Kanchan, president, taluk DYFI, presided over the function. Ex-office-bearers Chandrashekhar and Ramanath Bhandary, who had earlier hoisted the party flag, too were present on the dais.
