Kundapur, June 8: 

Solid waste management unit constructed at Kandavara with the co-ordination of Kundapur municipality and government will be inaugurated on June 9th.

Waste management was a big headache for Kundapur city since several days. Scarcity of the place developed the problem. At first all wastes were burnt near Sangam bridge and near park of Ferry road. But later the river bank was turned into dumping yard and was protested by local people.

But the managing board considered the matter very seriously and has come forward to establish a solid waste management unit in 15 acres government land in Kandavar.

Now the unit is ready in modern style. This is because of the co-operation of State Home Minister and Incharge Minister Dr V S Acharya.

The unit consists compost yard, leachut treatment pond, sanitary land fill area, aerobic lay out treatment, drainage system for rain water and warranda.
