Government has planned special schemes to strengthen police departments through out the state. Government has released additional budge grants of Rs 253 crore, home minister Dr V S Acharya.
He inaugurated the new traffic police station near KSRTC bus stand in Kundapur on June 13.
They have started selection process of 4012 new police personnel’s through out the state and also for 400 SI post. They have also planned to provide modern arms and weapons along with basic amenities. The main responsibility of police is to prevent terrorism, naxal activities and crime. Home ministry has succeeded to trace the crime activities, he added.
Western zone IGP Gopal Hosur participated as chief guest. The pressure on police will be decreased after the appointment of 1,000 additional police personnel’s, Hosur said.
