Udupi, June 16: The G Shankar family trust is providing scholarships every year to those students who are financially backward in society. This is the eighth year, they are disbursing scholarships. The scholarship disbursing and financial aid to the yakshgana artists will be held at Shamili convention hall on July 17.

Trust has disbursed scholarships to 2,500 students in the year 2009-10. This year also they will disburse scholarships to 2,500 students. They will also honor inefficient 12 yakshagana artist by providing Rs 10,000 each financial aid.

On this occasion they will felicitate students who have secured highest marks in SSLC and PUC science, commerce and arts division.

Trust has assisted thousands of poor patients in the past 8 years and also rendered services in education, social, cultural and religious field. More assistance will be provided in future, said a trust release.
